Twins at the dentist

Harper in the dentist's chair, Kelly said she did great, had X-rays and everything.  Ava opted out of the X-rays, she will try again in a month, but did get sealant on her teeth and let the dentist brush and count them.

They were happy with all the goodies they got.

Rielee's talent show

 Macee and Harper posed as we were waiting for the talent show to begin.

 Rielee did a great job.  She played her ukulele and sang the Kookaburra song and "You Are My Sunshine".

Ava's sunglasses

Ava and Harper were so excited this morning because Mom had packed their swimsuits and they were going to run through the sprinkler.  They tried putting them on right after breakfast, ready to head outside, we told them it was too cold out but they insisted, but  just a few seconds on the deck and they were back in.  Ava kept her sunglasses on all day, even sleeping in them.  In the afternoon, they ran through the sprinkler and then put their sundresses on and played at the play fort.  They are ready for summer.

Cooking and weedeating

 Harper had been sick yesterday but you would never know it this morning.  She felt so good and wanted to help me fix breakfast right away.  She wrote out "instructions" for us to follow and did all the mixing.  She ate all of her pancake, too.

 Ava woke up first from their nap and fixed her own peanut butter sandwich.  She was very proud of herself. When they went outside to play later, they continued with their cooking, making mud soup in the sandbox.

 

After the terrible wreck near our driveway this weekend, we sent Parker out to clear the brush growing along the bank.  It will give us a little more visibility when we pull out into traffic.  He does a great job with that weedeater.

Tierney's graduation party

Baccalaureate was this afternoon, Macee read some scripture and did a great job.  After that was Tierney's party.  It was fun, lots of family and friends, and it was nice enough to sit outside.  James was showing Parker and Rielee something very entertaining on his phone, I never did hear what it was.

Tierney said something funny to her former basketball coach Don Misner, and I didn't hear that either.

Looking unalike

Most of the time, the twins look more alike than different, and people who don't see them regularly can only tell them apart if they are wearing their signature green (Harper) and pink (Ava).  But in these pictures as they were waking up from their naps, I thought they looked completely different.

Ava didn't want her picture taken very badly at all, Harper managed a little grin.

Donuts

Harper and Ava had a busy morning.  They made sun catchers and birthday cards to give to Lexi, it's her 15th birthday today.  I was proud of them because they both wrote Lexi's name on their cards, then they decorated sacks to put their gifts in.   

They were so disappointed to wake up from their nap and find it was raining again.  We sang "rain rain go away" but it didn't help, Harper said we had to sing louder and was on the verge of tears, so I told them they could make donuts instead.  They concentrated on decorating some to take home for their family and did a great job.  It is a chaotic, messy experience but they sure enjoy it.  Afterwards, the sun came out so we went for a walk to pick flowers, swing on the big swing, feed some grass to the chickens, and play in the creek.
