Papa's pitching shield

How Papa pitches now:  pitch, then
hide.  No more getting nailed with the ball.

Rielee's good bye party

We had a little get together tonight to celebrate both Gabe's birthday and Rielee's college send-off.
It was fun and emotional (for me).  She's the last kid in the neighborhood and we'll miss her.  I still can't get over how fast they all grew up!
Gabe's 49th birthday is tomorrow.  He'll be busy moving Rielee into her dorm.

Some pics from last week, I took Josie to check out the chickens.

And I got to watch Hattie one day for a couple of hours.
She slept the entire time so I got some serious cuddling time.

What an angelic little face.

Alan visited yesterday evening, he told us all about his latest Moh's surgery.

Clark County Fair

We started out our visit to the fair with an elephant ear while waiting for the rides to open.
They went on lots of the rides except any that went upside down,
and won many prizes at the midway games.

Harper talked Ava into going on this ride,

Ava regretted it, she doesn't like heights.

Macee and Craig wedding

We first celebrated with Macee and Craig at their rehearsal dinner at the Tacoma Yacht Club.  Lots of their friends and family were there.  We heard many heartfelt and funny stories and toasts about them.

Macee and Craig arriving at the venue.

The girls all looked so pretty.

We posed for pictures on the dock.

It was a beautiful ceremony.
Macee did a wonderful job with the decorations, most of which she made herself.

 A hug for Aunt Cathy.

Lots of fun poses at the photo booth.

And baby Hattie was a popular guest.

Josie & Hattie visits, Ava & Harper's 14th birthday

Josie came to play today and we spent the longest time in the sand box.  She was rolling around saying she how she loves the beach!  She got so dirty.  Then on the way home, she told me that Hattie talked to her, and said her name!

While Josie was napping, Emmy stopped by with Hattie.  She was wide awake the whole time.  She has the most expressive little face, what a doll, she evened cooed once for me.

Today was Ava and Harper's 14th birthday, which they chose to celebrate at Papa Pete's.

They loved the sweatshirts they got from the Gourde's.

Posing with Rielee,  Harper is wearing a Taylor Swift shirt her friend brought her from the concert.

They were disappointed in the changes in the game room there, doesn't take quarters anymore and the race car games were gone.

Bridget riding

We had so much fun watching Bridget compete at the fair yesterday.  She looked so relaxed and like she was really having fun!

Seaside

We left early Saturday for Seaside. Rielee had been up late at Macee's bachlorette party at the lake house so she conked out quick.

We drove right to Cannon Beach so the girls could see Haystack Rock, which didn't go well.
Traffic was terrible and we took a wrong turn and ended way past it.  Took this pic and headed right back to Seaside.

Ava and Harper went of the Tilt-A-Whirl while Rielee and Papa got Pronto Pups.

Next stop-Funland.

Harper bought a crown with her tickets.

Rielee wanted to go to the aquarium, we spent a long time there and in the gift shop.

They all got the smashed pennies.

Saturday night we went to see the Barbie movie, we all enjoyed it (Ava and Harper's second time).
Then we played WhooNu until bedtime.

Sunday morning Papa said the hotel breakfast was lame so we went to Pig N Pancake instead.
It's always good.

Rielee and Harper had fun riding the go-karts.

Back in Astoria, we found a cool retro arcade.
Ava actually won something on the claw game,
a bracelet and a healing stone.

On the ride home, Rielee caught up a little more on her sleep.
