Rielee's track meet

Tuesday, Rielee warming up at the pole vault as Kelso hosted Mt. View.

And clearing 8', which got her first place.  She also won the 100 meter hurdles in a solo race, but ran her best time, placed 2nd in 300 meter hurdles, and third in the javelin.

Ava's soccer semi-final win

Ava getting control of the ball early in the Founder's Cup semi-final game this morning,
taking a free kick,
and a throw-in.  They won 2-1 in an very exciting overtime finish.
She was all smiles after the game!

Josie visit, Harper's first softball game

Josie was downright giddy having gotten hold of the remote.
She liked pushing the airplane ride-on and walked all over the place.  We had to guide it for her or else it would roll too fast, she sure was proud of herself.
It was such a joy to watch Harper playing softball again.  She had her first game on Thursday in Washougal.

She had a couple of hits and played really well.

Ava's soccer, Oobleck, zip line, selfies

Saturday we watched Ava play soccer at Rex Putnam High School in Portland.  After a year long break, it was so much fun to sit in the bleachers on a beautiful day and watch her team.  She played really well.  It ended with an exciting tie breaker with penalty kicks but the other team scored first.
Her biggest fan, ready to watch with her bag of snacks.
I mentioned that I bought cornstarch to make moon dough but they wanted to make Oobleck instead.  Strange stuff, they played with it all afternoon.
They hung out in the hot tub, played outside and then Rielee came over and they went on the zip line,

and took some cute selfies.

Parker even came over last night with Rielee and Kamalie and went for some rides.

Spring break fun

Harper challenged me to a marshmallow cook off Monday, no contest.
Papa worked all day on a ladder and platform for the zip line.
Almost finished and much easier to use it now.
It was so nice out Tuesday that we turned down the hot tub and got them a noodle and tube to float on.  They were in and out of it all day.
We tried out a recipe for cake pops-big fail.  First I burned one of the cakes, then we added too much frosting to the crumbled cake and it was too wet.  We all took one bite and tossed them.
Rielee got back from vacation Tuesday and came to try out the zip line, she liked it a lot.

Easter and zip line

An Easter gathering again, gosh, it felt so good to be together again.
We visited and ate first,
then it was time for the cousin picture-note how Josie is touching Tor, she just loves him.
Then it was egg hunting-

there were tons of eggs hidden.
Josie looking at her Easter goodies.
The girls all sat together to look through their stuff,
and posed for a picture afterwards.
Some family pics-

Kelly got to meet and hold Josie for the first time.
Parker held her and she checked out his beard.
Harper won the 13 and under egg roll.
The adults had to go in two waves,
Charb won, and the other guys were finishers.
Colin and I waiting for eggs from Charb and Ava, neither of us caught them.
Cale and Erica were the winners.

Easter themed Family Feud, boys vs. girls, was fun.
It ended in a tie, with the boys winning the tie breaker, pick a number...
After the party, Nancy and the kids came up to try out the zip line.  First they went sitting, then Colin stood on the swing, so they all tried that.
Then Colin tried just hanging from the handlebar,
and they all tried that, too.
Now all we need is a platform to launch from instead of a ladder.

Last of volleyball, Uncle and Josie

Macee and Rielee after Kelso beat Union in 3 on Monday.  Macee had come down and went to practice with Rielee on Friday and worked with the team on defense.
Wednesday night they played their last match for the 3A/4A regional title against Camas.   Unfortunately, they lost in 5, but it was a joy to watch Rielee and the team fight so hard and play some great volleyball.

Uncle enticed Josie today with a chair, of all things.  He brought out two of the little chairs, sat in one and patted the other.  She came crawling over, pulled herself up to it and patted on it, too.  Then he brought her up to sit on his lap for a second, she tolerated it so he feels like they're buddies now, ha!
