Carrots and cousin pool time

Thursday-we have baby carrots!

Jillian, Bridget and Tor came to swim today.  Tor showed us how he could jump in the tube. 

Cathy got them all over to the side for a picture,

then they all jumped in together for a picture - Rielee took one of her water balloons with her. 

After lunch, the girls went down to Aunt Cathy's, Ava played on the slip n' slide with the kids, then they ran around playing "try to find Rielee", which they got bored with quickly since they never could find her.  After that, they all went swimming again until dinner time. 

Warm weekend

Friday night the girls were playing on the hammock late into the evening.  We were at Alan and Vera's for cake and ice cream for Vera, then they went back to the hammock.  Harper played without her boot on for a little while, she got her cast off on Wednesday.  They made up a new water balloon game -"rock the baby".  The balloons didn't last long.

All she wants to do is read, Rielee, that is.  Kind of drives Ava and Harper crazy, they'll be glad when she gets through the Twilight series.

The girls spent lots of time in the pool this weekend.  They even got Papa to go in this morning.

Later in the day Gabe started the kids off trying to land on a tube, he made it.

Parker missed on this attempt but made it on the next try.

Rielee landed it. 

Birthday week-Rielee, Charb, Macee

This is birthday week in our world-

Monday Rielee celebrated her 12th birthday at a party with family and her good friend Ruby.  Her cake was a little lopsided because when Parker was driving home with it someone cut him off and he had to slam on the brakes.  Still tasted great though!

Cousin Benny helped her open gifts and added lots of funny commentary.

 

After the party Ava and Harper spent the night with us.  Ava was up early and had her swimsuit on under her clothes.  It wasn't very warm out but she couldn't wait to get in the pool.  Harper was sad that she couldn't go in but was a pretty good sport about it, all in all.

Ava had a ball, I had to make her get out when her teeth started chattering.

 

Charbo-6 months

Today we celebrated this guy's 45th birthday,

and tomorrow Macee will celebrate her 22nd birthday in Seattle.

Treasure and tree climbing

Harper was the only one to find anything at the garage sales we went to Friday.  The little folding table was unfinished and she spent a long time painting it.  Of course, it needed glitter, too.

Harper was ready to trample my petunias today to climb a Japanese maple so Papa steered her to a cedar tree instead.  She was making me nervous going so high, not very safe climbing in a cast and a flip-flop.

Ava followed and was ready to go to the top but I had to stop her, no more injuries needed. 

Third graders now

They were not happy about leaving, Ava named 4 reasons why:

1.  They'll miss their teacher.

2.  They'll miss their friends.

                          3.  Friend Paige is leaving for another school.

               4.  They have allergies in the summer.

Father's Day Picnic

Today was the Father's Day Picnic at King's Way,

 They had hamburgers, hotdogs and goodies and the kids sang a couple of songs.

The girls were proud of the plates they decorated for Dad.

Saturday-Emmy's shower, Sunday-day of slime

Saturday was Emmy's bridal shower.  Auna and Des hosted it at Des' house and it was a lot of fun.  There was a mix of people there from all aspects of Emmy's life.  Des and Auna did a great job of hosting, with fun decorations, games and great food.

Rielee asked to make slime this morning.  We had everything to make it except glue so they picked some up in town when Papa took them to the bakery.  It turned out great and they played with it the rest of the day, adding more and more shaving cream to make it softer and more pliable. 

Harper's cast

Harper came to stay with us Thursday, she was having a little pain in her foot and wasn't ready to walk yet on her cast.  The first thing she wanted to do was make cinnamon rolls, she loves them, and the dough.

She got the Jeep out to go to Alan and Vera's and show off her cast.  By Thursday night, and after hearing a pep talk from Dad, she was walking on it pretty well.  She stayed home from school Friday and, since Rielee was also staying with us, Ava came up to make it a slumber party.  They played outside and then had a "Jessie" marathon.  

Ava is so good at using the jewelry pliers, this morning she made some earrings for Mom and for a friend who is having a birthday. 

 

Yay! The hammock is up, always a momentous event at the start of summer.
