Lexi's birthday, Harper's broken foot

Harper hurt her foot yesterday, she was playing with Ava in our living room and fell off a chair.  She went to the doctor this morning and, yep, it's broken.  She'll get a cast tomorrow.  She went to her tee ball game tonight to cheer for Ava and the team.
After the game, we went to Billygan's to celebrate Lexi's 19th birthday.  Ava took this picture of her.  We all had a nice meal and Lexi got a huge sundae for dessert (she ate part of it and  Luke and Dale finished it off).

Auna state, painted rocks

Saturday we were in Cheney to watch Auna throw the javelin at the State Tournament.  While she didn't make it to the finals, she did have a great first season of javelin competition all in all.  We're very proud of her.
Ava and Harper wanted to go to the playgrounds today, starting with the new one by the Senior Center.  They were excited to find a Cowlitz County painted rock there, and by the time we left they had found seven total-what fun.
Ava even found one on top of this apparatus.

They had just as much fun hiding them when we went to the elementary school playground.

Weekend of fun

Saturday morning we went to a couple of garage sales in town, Ava found some cowboy boots that she loved and wore the rest of the weekend.  We also made a stop at the library, they love that place.
Rielee came over later and they started a business selling ice cream cones and popsicles.  Harper and Rielee went around the neighborhood taking orders and Ava and I filled them.  They added cardamom bread slices to the menu later.  They made $16 and had a ball doing it.

Macee came over this morning and bought a cone from the girls and visited for a bit.
She's loving law school and looking forward to her internship at a Seattle law firm this summer.

Rielee decided it was warm enough to flood the sandbox and get messy.
Harper didn't have a swimsuit but Rielee found an old one of hers that kind of fit.  Once Ava had her fill of sand, she went inside to play Barbies.  Rielee and Harper made the play fort slide into a water slide and did silly stuff for me to video.  Harper cracked us up when her saggy swimsuit bottom filled with soapy water she'd wring it out, what a funny sight.

Worker bees, snowballs

We came home from the track meet yesterday to the best surprise-
Rielee had hauled limbs to the burn pile off the big tree Papa had cut down at Alan's.

And Parker cut the tree into chunks and hauled or dragged them
to the wood shed (Alan took these pictures of them). Parker even split a pile of wood for us.
We were very grateful for their hard work.
Today Papa quartered the bigger pieces to make them
easier to handle when we split them.  Nice to have all the wood
right by the woodshed.

It was cute, when we drove up the driveway with the girls today, they shouted, "Snowballs!"
So a little later we had a snowball fight, Harper said it was a tradition.

Auna district track

The district track meet was today in Woodland.  Auna won the javelin with a throw of 126'6" (a PR by 7')!
She'll compete in the state meet in Cheney next weekend.

One very happy family.
On the podium with teammate Nakayla Ehrhorn who took 2nd.

Rielee with Indy, new kittens

Sunday - Rielee got to meet Indy, Emmy and Dan's new puppy.  She's a big girl at 8 weeks old!  She's Golden/ Pyrenees and has the softest fur you can imagine.

Today Rielee got two new kittens, cute brothers who are also 8 weeks old.

Duke is on the left, he's kind of mellow.  Rascal is smaller-he was the runt, but he makes up for it in feistiness.  Rielee thinks he'll be a good mouser.

Parker, snail and Jeep

Parker came over Saturday to help us install a new kitchen light fixture and spent his downtime teasing the girls.  We got a package with their flower girl dresses to try on, I had ordered 2 different ones, and of course they liked different ones.  Emmy and Dan picked their favorite, so that solved that.  Harper wanted to keep the other dresses in case someone else in the family got married this summer. When I said there isn't anyone else getting married, she asked "what about Auna?"  I explained that Auna is only 17, which led to a long discussion on how Auna and Daddy can be cousins when she's so much younger than him.
Exciting find by Ava-a very big snail.
Ava was fascinated by how it felt crawling across her hand, she was surprised how fast it went.  Harper wasn't as thrilled but did hold it.

Ava was having fun driving in the rain, even with an unhappy Harper, who was upset with herself for breaking her umbrella and having to use mine.

Baseball, open house, tee ball

Lexi, Harper and Ava watching Luke at bat vs. Camas on Tuesday.  Beautiful day and a close game but Camas won 4-3.

After the game we went to Open House, where the girls had to do some math

at four different stations.  Then they went to the Book Fair.

Tonight was tee-ball, the kids love to bat and run the bases,

but sometimes it's hard to pay attention.
Fortunately, it's only 3 innings so it goes by quickly.

Aunt Theresa, Rachelle and Papa Mike enjoyed the game.

Parker prom

Saturday morning we went to watch Auna and Rielee compete at Regionals in Portland.  I forgot my camera and left my phone in the car so - no pictures, darn.  It was really fun watching them play.

We stopped by Charb & Kelly's on the way home to pick up Ava and Harper.  Rielee came over when she got home and they played outside.  Rielee climbed a tree, Ava and Harper tried to follow her up but couldn't make it very far.

Parker and his buddy Anders stopped by on their way to meet up with their prom dates, they looked very handsome.
Ava was upset this morning.  She had wanted to go to the library yesterday to check out a book on Space, but it was closed by the time we got there.  I  thought it was open today but she brought me the library schedule in tears, crushed because it was closed.  I found her a website with info on the planets which placated her.  She set up a science lab in the play fort later, with her microscope and kid computer.  She and Harper had a fun day playing in the sunshine, riding around in the Jeep and on their scooters.  We had a fire pit lunch, and Papa took them to the bakery for dessert.

Ava's tooth

When we picked up the girls from school, Ava showed us how loose her tooth was and said the school nurse tried to pull it but couldn't.  We got to the car and she said it was bleeding so I handed her a tissue and she said it had fallen out!  No tears, which we later found out cost Harper $5 since they had a bet on whether Ava would cry or not.
Celebrating with some very chocolaty yogurt, of which she ate about a third.  Then we met Daddy at the Dollar Store where Papa gave them each $3 to spend.

Auna's 17th

Auna celebrated her 17th birthday tonight.  Emmy decorated, it was her take on The Office episode where Dwight decorated with barely inflated balloons and plain streamers (I had to ask).  The kids were ready to help her blow out the candles,
Jillian blew out most of them so fast no one could believe it!

Auna caught up to Parker, at 17 they don't have to sneak into "R" rated movies anymore.
