Rielee's gymnastics show

Rielee's gymnastics school had their show tonight.  Rielee did a floor routine with 2 other girls.
 She did a great job!
 Here's a video clip:  https://youtu.be/lkBCtzYCNDk

Cones and sand box

The first thing Ava said when she got in the car after school Wednesday was "it's a good day for an ice cream cone!"  They love to get the kiddie cones from BK and we love them because they're free.
They changed into dress-up clothes and hurried outside to play in the sunshine.  After swinging for a few minutes they wanted to flood the sandbox and that kept them busy for a long time.

Morning music

This morning Papa was showing Rielee how she and the girls can reach their ukuleles on the wall now in his den when they started singing and playing "Blue Moon".  What a nice way to start the day.

Auna track, pretend baby

We went to watch Auna compete today in the district track meet at McKenzie Stadium, she qualified in the 100 and 200.  Emmy was there, coaching the throwers for Kalama.
Dan came to watch and Auna put him in charge of her pretend baby, Emmy named her "Althea".  Fortunately Althea was quiet so he didn't have to do anything for her.
Auna ran hard, I think she was 5th in the 100.  She pulled a muscle in her hip so running the 200 was difficult, but she gave it her best effort and finished it.  We were proud of her.

Bigger bed and playroom

Ava and Harper moved into their bigger and better playroom today.  They were thrilled with the "ginormous", as Harper called it, bed they got from Gabe and Des, especially since it's temporarily on the floor and easy to jump on.
Ava spent a lot of time at the desk, making a sign for their books and writing a note to Papa.  They were excited when it was time to go to bed and it went well until Harper rolled over and her splint bonked Ava on the nose.

Still a thrill

Papa can drive them up and down the little hill in Des and Gabe's yard over and over and they still scream and laugh like crazy, so funny!

Twins day off

Harper got a removable splint for her elbow yesterday.  She's happy with it since she can hold a pencil and take it off to bathe or sleep (but hasn't wanted to sleep without it yet).  She and Ava came up to spend the night since they didn't have school today.  They were excited to have Rielee wake them up this morning, but Ava didn't feel like waking up and slept in a little instead.
Harper misses school so much and can't wait to go back but they made the most of their day off and were so silly.  They've been playing with a lot of energy lately and are always, always, trying to make each other laugh.  I had to stop Harper this morning as she was riding her scooter with her left leg over the handle while steering with her splint and almost rode into the wall!  We were wishing for some dry weather to get them outside but our only trip out was to the library, but they had fun there, of course.  Rielee had early release so she was back in the afternoon to play with them for an hour before she left for gymnastics.

Kick ball

Harper and Papa played this kick ball game with the beach ball off and on all day.  They discovered that she kicks a lot better with her left foot.  Harper stayed home from school today and will her cast hopefully tomorrow morning and go to school after that.  It was interesting having just her today. She missed Ava so Papa and I were her substitute playmates and, well, that was exhausting.  She's a busy little girl.  First thing this morning she made up a card game, which was fun until it became clear that we were never going to have a winner and the game could go on forever.   She left it to work on a craft for the fair though, and stayed with that about an hour, it was pretty tedious for her doing it one-handed.  She finished it later and is hoping to win a "big" ribbon for it.

Harper feeling better

Harper's broken elbow slowed her down yesterday, but she was back to normal today.  They played dress-up as soon as they got here, then set up stores, Ava selling toys and food, and Harper selling her drawings of people, of all things.  Surprisingly, she draws pretty well with her left hand, and her writing was good, too, she said upper-case was easier.  Ava was being silly posing.

Dan, Emmy and Auna stopped by and Harper drew Dan.  He  made her laugh when he kept putting her stuffed animals on his head.  She told him to stop since she didn't know how to draw dogs.
Rielee came to play and they went outside to draw with chalk, then Rielee wanted them to come over to see how big the chicks are getting.  Ava ran in and got her scooter and Harper followed,  I told her no and she tried to convince me she could ride with one hand.  Later at the play fort she started to cry when she couldn't swing with one arm.  Frustrated, she crossed her arms and said dramatically "I can't swing, I can't scooter, what am I supposed to do, just stand here all day?!"  She tried tummy swinging for a bit and then Rielee brought her water balloons over and they happily played with those instead.

Luke baseball, Harper's elbow fracture

We saw Luke play in a game in Camas Thursday evening.  He played well, had a single,
a nice sacrifice bunt and a couple great catches, they were behind and then caught up but ended up losing by a couple of runs.
Friday - Harper had an accident at school, falling off the monkey bars and breaking her elbow.  Kelly said she was in a lot of pain but they gave her some medication in the ER and she felt better.  She even got silly and wanted to make funny videos with Mom's phone.
On the way home with a splint, no cast until the swelling goes down.  She also got some medication to take at home since the pain will likely be worse on the 2nd and 3rd days.

Lexi had a great game, she was 3-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs.

Parker my helper

Parker finished chipping up the limbs today from a tree he cut down for me last week.
Then he cut down another one and threw the chips into the wagon so I could spread them on the trails.  His hard work is making filling the woodshed so much easier this year.  Papa was impressed at how good Parker is at dropping the trees right where he wants them.  He  hasn't been too thrilled over some of the trees we're taking down but has accepted that the yard needed some editing-and now we can plant new trees.

Parker & Olivia prom, sunshine fun

Saturday night was prom for Olivia and Parker, they had dinner at Beaches, looking so pretty and handsome.
Saturday afternoon we took the girls to the playground, then stopped at the bakery.  Harper always wants one of the fancy cookies, there was a green star, then only eats the frosting because the cookie is too hard.  Ava always gets a chocolate/maple bar and Rielee likes bismarcks with crème filling.
Rielee got to go for a little ride today with Dad on Grandpa's old 4-wheeler.
The girls played outside together all day.  They washed Rielee's wagon and tied it on to the Jeep so they could all ride around together.  They rode around so much that they ran the battery down.
Rielee loaned Harper a swimsuit and Ava a top to wear to run through the sprinkler and make a water slide off the play fort.
This was as close as Ava got to the sprinkler, too cold for her.  She went down the water slide once, Harper didn't go near it, but Rielee did it several times.
Harper and Rielee had some fun with the sprinkler, but they spent more time on their towels warming up than anything.

Lexi softball, Auna's birthday, Rielee the teacher

Lexi was interviewed in a write-up in the Columbian on Thursday, so cool.
Auna had her 15th birthday party tonight.  Laury had to work late, so David made her cake.  We played some fun games of Spoons after cake and ice cream.
Rielee spent 500 of her reading points today on the opportunity to be "teacher for a day".  She was so excited about it and had to be at school early to prepare.  She said it's her dream to be an elementary teacher when she grows up.
She took her finger pointer, in case she needed to say "listen up"!  She reported after school that it went great, she loved it.
