Luke's picture was in the Columbian this morning, he is in the bright blue jersey in the middle. This was taken at their practice on Wednesday at Union High School. The Evergreen Bulldogs play their first game in Florida tomorrow, vs. the Loveland Titans out of Colorado.
Charb and Luke flew out of Seattle early today, Luke was one excited kid!
Memories of time spent with grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and the whole new world of twins.

Aunt Cathy's
The girls got to play with Jillian and Bridget at Aunt Cathy's house this morning. They all got along very well, playing with the Polly Pocket sets, kitchen, and Cathy's lighthouse Christmas display.
Harper woke up from her nap as Papa and I were getting ready to watch Emmy's match from Hawaii. I think she could actually see Emmy, too, it was a very clear video. Unfortunately, the Wildcats lost in 5. They had a great season though!
We took the girls back and met Kelly and Luke at Grandma Barb's. We stayed to visit for a few minutes and when we left Papa said of the Ava and Harper, "well, they just have their own little world there, too, just like at our house!" The power of three year old twins!

Cupcake
"This one is all mine!" Harper said. She frosted a couple for Alan first, one with about 1/4 cup of sprinkles on it, and then dove into her own special one. We took the girls to watch Auna's basketball game this afternoon. In the evening we took some cupcakes to the Dolan's and then went to see Rielee. Des made some yummy popcorn with melted white chocolate and sprinkles on it. Harper really liked it. Ava was too busy checking out Rielee's princess dresses to try any. Rielee came back home with us for a little while and they all played "restaurant", Papa and I were the customers.

Back from break
We missed these two over the Thanksgiving break. They were ready to play outside first thing this morning so I let them out on the deck and they quickly changed their minds. Fortunately it was nice enough in the afternoon for them to go out. They did some swinging and played in the sandbox making pies and cakes until their hands were freezing.

You're not a girl, Alan!
An article in the CWU paper last week, I like her quote. |
I am so excited for Emmy, the Wildcats made it to Regionals, which will be played at BYU Hawaii!
. We lost power this morning, the girls got their flashlights out and played with them until Papa got the generator going.
Who is this child? I was straightening my hair this morning and Harper wanted me to do hers, so I did a little in the front. She immediately hated it, and rubbed at it like she was trying to get it to curl again, and it really did look so odd! We quickly put it in a pony. She wasn't about to smile for any picture with that weird hair either, she made a funny face instead.
They were thrilled to see Alan today, and asked him to come in the playroom and play with them. He really got them going when he pretended to put on their lip gloss-they both gave him the funniest looks and then Harper told him "you're not a girl, Alan!"

Bulldogs and Wildcats win!
-; Luke's team won their game today in California! 14-0! It was a huge upset. They now are headed to the Pop Warner Super Bowl Championship in Orlando the first week in December!
We went over to watch the Wildcat's last league match tonight. They won it in 3 and now must wait until tomorrow night to find out if they will be in the play-offs. It was Senior night, that's why Em looks teary-eyed in this picture, it was emotional, possibly this was their last game together and her roommate Devon is the senior setter. Jason is recovering from shoulder surgery he had last week. His parents were at the game also and we got to meet them.

Turkeys
When I was picking up Rielee today, I noticed this poster in the hall outside her room. She was one of the winners of the Veteran's Day coloring contest. She said she got a medal, but was disappointed because it was plastic.
The girls made turkey pictures today by stamping their handprint on the paper plate they had painted, then decorating it. They turned out cute. Ava and Harper went down to Cathy's in the morning and played with Jillian and Bridget.
It cracked me up when I caught Ava on the potty like this, she said she was calling Grandma Barb. Both girl's imaginations are so entertaining these days. Harper had her play phone tonight and when I started to ask her something, she quickly "shhh'd" me and said "I'm talking to Daddy, Lexi hurt her leg!" and very seriously carried on a conversation while wandering through the house. Or they will come into the room, one walking beside the other, who is crawling, and say "I brought you something, a kitty!", and the crawling one is meowing and acting like a cat.

Drawing names
Rielee wanted to draw the kid's names for their Christmas gift exchange today. It got a little interesting with the twins helping, they wanted to get Luke and Lexi for their names, and didn't understand why they couldn't.
Later, all three girls were dressed up and dancing, afterwards Harper sat and posed for me.

State Champions!
I love this picture because for one, you can see the tears in Tierney's eyes, they were all crying and so emotional. And two, our t-shirts with the "Unfinished Business" on the back, Papa wouldn't wear his because he was afraid it would be bad luck, but they proved him wrong, he can wear it now and cross off the "UN" and add a "1st".
The 4 best friends having some fun with the trophy! They were all so emotional after the win, nobody wanted to leave the dome.
Lots of happy tears!
One very proud family!
And my souvenir from the tournament, the signs they made of the girls, I had one of Macee's, Cathy had Tierney's. We were proud Grandmas, waving our signs after every kill! And superstitious, too, our little group-we all sat in the same seats in the same section for every match, and then the last match they moved to Court 6 to 5, so we sat in the opposite, but same positions on the other side of the dome, not taking anything for granted!! And it must have helped, they won! Ha!

Volleyball State
Happy Birthday Papa - Macee and Papa after the Rockets beat Freeman 3-1 this morning.
Rielee and her cheering friends Kinzi (daughter of the coach), and Lanie and Lindsey (cousins of Maddie and Nicole) at the Rockets second match vs. Connell, which they won in 3. The little girls cheered for the team and also entertained themselves by drawing and coloring.

Rielee, Ava, Harper, Bridget, Parker and Jillian helped wave signs for the Rockets as they left for the State tournament in Yakima this morning!

Momma and baby
The girls were so tired this morning that after they had breakfast and Rielee left for school, we put them back to bed. They woke up at 11 and were good to go. This picture is from when they were playing "Momma and baby" this afternoon. Harper was the baby and crawled everywhere following Momma Ava.

Raking leaves
Papa got them started this morning with a Lego tower, and then they needed their stools to build it higher. After sleeping in until 8, they had lots of energy. We were outside working by 10, raking and hauling leaves. The girls were big helpers, they stomped on the leaves in the wagon, compacting them so we were able to haul lots more than normal.
They helped unload them, too.
Rielee raked leaves after school while I picked some up with the lawnmower and Parker blew off the driveway.

Luke's Bulldogs are League Champions
I took this picture of Lexi and Harper tonight at Luke's league championship game. They were playing at McKenzie Stadium. We left in the 3rd quarter since the twins were coming home with us and they were getting tired, but heard from Charb later that they won. They will play next weekend in Spokane and then at Regionals in California on Thanksgiving weekend. The Bulldogs are having a great season!

District Champions
A very happy Macee and Rielee after the Rockets won the District Championship today, beating King's Way easily in 3. That makes for 5 District Championships in a row, I believe, what a run of great volleyball we've enjoyed in Castle Rock. Now it is on to the State tournament next Friday and Saturday.

Sleeping Beauty the morning after, she said she slept in her costume. They were worn out after Halloween and took early and long naps.
It was such a warm afternoon, we took the girls out for a walk. Papa was blowing off the driveway and the next thing I know, they were both giving it a try.
Then I took them down to play in the water. They had a ball, we had to dump the water out of Harper's boots when we got back inside.
