Luke's Senior night

It was Senior night for Luke, the seniors and parents were introduced before the game.
It was a great game against Skyview.  Luke had 2 hits and scored 2 runs as they won it 9-4.  The Titans are in the playoffs which start this weekend.

Luke's fans

After Luke's game we went to watch the rest of Harper's, she played 3rd base and center field and did a good job.

Ava scores, Rielee painting, Debbie's shower

Ava scored her first goal ever in her game on Saturday, then she added two more.  She's definitely getting the hang of this outdoor soccer business.
Rielee spent the night with us Saturday.  Today she helped Mom paint the building downtown before the new Crosscut Tap House business opens.

We went to Debbie's shower at Harry Gardner Park this afternoon.
Debbie's baby boy Jacob is due this week.
We had fun watching little Jordon playing on the slide and riding around in his Jeep.
There were onesies and wash cloths for us to decorate and diapers to write messages to the parents.

Luke's signing day, Rielee & Colin track

Today we were so proud to watch as Luke was part of the signing ceremony at Union.  He's decided to play baseball at Shasta College in Redding, CA.  It was wonderful to hear his coach talk about him, his love of baseball and what a leader he has become for his team.
He was smiling just about the entire time.

His baseball team was there to watch.

Proud family

Papa Mike

With best friend Ethan, who's going on to play basketball at Clark.

Luke with Dad

This afternoon was the start of track season at Alki for Colin.  He ran the 800, in a very crowded race, he's the first guy in blue on the right.  Grandpa thought he came in 2nd.

He also threw the discus and Grandpa didn't know how he finished.

I went to Rielee's meet at KHS.  She ran the hurdles, finishing 2nd, which was great since her practice consisted of jumping over a total of 2 hurdles.  She also took 2nd in the javelin,  and competed in the high jump and long jump but didn't place.

Easter at Cathy and Bob's

The girls posed for me before the Easter festivities started, notice Rielee's volleyball knees.

The annual cousin picture before the kids egg hunt.

It was Luke's 18th birthday, so we brought his cake out and sang to him.

Then the egg hunting started, it was intense from the look on Ava's face.

Looking over their loot,
and they had plenty of it.
Next was the adult egg hunt.  Cathy had put craft items in the eggs and split the participants into 3 teams.  The teams had to create a picture or something out of the craft stuff in their eggs and present it to the judges-Jillian, Bridget, Tor, Ava and Harper.
Team #1 at work, they had 10 minutes.
The judges heard the presentations, then huddled up to talk it over and vote.
This picture won-the Hawaiian theme was a hit with the judges, maybe because the entire Woodruff clan is vacationing there this summer.
The winning team. Tierney made crowns for the winners of each game.

Harper was the winner of the kids egg roll,

and Papa beat out Laury to win the adult egg roll.

The raw egg toss is always so fun to watch, the looks on people's faces are priceless.

Somehow Harper's egg ended up on her foot!

After a long battle, James and Dan were the winners, for the 3rd time, I think.

posing, Ava's soccer, Luke's 18th birthday

I was surprised when I turned on my camera today to find a bunch of pictures the girls had taken.  Along with many bird pictures were several that they had taken of each other posing in the playroom.  Harper said they were pretending they were famous.

Ava's soccer game today was at Felida Park.  Ava is fun to watch and has some very impressive moves
All those lunch recesses playing soccer with the boys has paid off, she's aggressive and really good at stealing the ball.

She ran her little heart out and had a red face to prove it.
Luke celebrated his 18th birthday tonight with lots of family and friends at Juliano's Pizzeria.  He likes Juliano's because they're Eagles fans, they also serve the biggest pizzas you've ever seen.

Harper's softball, Barbies, Colby's

Kelly asked if we could take Harper to her first softball game in Camas Saturday since Charb was in Spokane and Ava's first soccer game was in Ridgefield at the same time.
Harper's team is called the Narwahls, they are good and they are loud, knowing lots of chants and cheers.
Harper was a little nervous batting but she hit a single her first at bat.  Her team won 14-13.
Kelly said did great at her game, which ended in a 2-2 tie.
Rielee came over today and they brought in both Barbie houses and played Bachelorette Barbie.  There was a little drama when Harper ran over one of the Ken doll's leg with the hover board, Ava and Rielee thought she broke his leg, but as it turned out he was fine.
The Dolans had a house warming for Colby this afternoon, he bought a nice, completely remodeled house in Castle Rock. Auna decorated it for him and did a wonderful job.

More spring break fun, James

Rielee came over Friday morning and hung out with the girls.  We went to see Dumbo, it was good.
Saturday morning we all slept in, Ava and Harper had stayed up late working on rock houses.  They entertained themselves building pyramids with cups and then destroying them.

We had pizza for lunch and then they played with Rielee most of the day, ending with a Barbie session at her house that lasted until 9:00.

What a nice surprise when James walked through the door today.  He's done living in Reno
and back home for good.   Parker came over and we all shared a lot of laughs, reliving Parker and James'
childhood incident with the knife and James' various other injuries involving stitches (funny now years after).  Parker took James and Alan over and showed them his place and also discussed the status of the loft with Papa.

Spring break beach trip

We got to Seaside before noon Wednesday and first visited the arcade, then the aquarium and  finally-the beach!
The weather cooperated, we got a little sun and it was pretty comfortable.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Astoria and were thrilled with view.  We saw 8 ships go upriver while we were there.
The girls spent the rest of the day in the pool and hot tub.  In the evening we went to dinner at the Pig n' Pancake and then to the Astoria Pool to use the slide, only to be told that they were short on lifeguards and the slide was closed.  We went in anyway, even Papa (a first).  They did open the slide for about 10 minutes, but we had fun anyway, playing chase around the lazy river.
The girls were up early and back in the pool at 8:30 - they stayed there until we had to check out at noon, playing with a couple other girls who were about the same age.

Ava got some deluxe hot chocolate with her lunch at the Pig n' Pancake before we left for home.
