Halloween 2021

We delivered treat bags to the kids today and they posed with their pumpkins.  Harper was proud of hers, she worked hard carving it with an X-acto knife and managed not to cut herself. She and Ava looked cute all dressed up to go out trick or treating in their neighborhood.
We may have had only four trick or treaters, but they were the best in town.  Josie was our first one and definitely the most darling ghost ever!
The Woodruff kids came by later.  Tor showed us some dinosaur dance moves when he came in-so funny!
They all looked awesome.

Dollar General, batting practice, volleyball

Ava had a soccer-free Sunday so they were able to come up and visit.  What a nice surprise to find the new Dollar General store had opened.
We had batting practice.

Ava's pitching style made us all laugh, throw, then run so she didn't get hit with the ball.
Harper tried foam pumpkin carving with the Dremel.

Their pumpkins turned out cute.

Rielee had a tough match Monday against Mt. View.
We were proud of her, with the team down three key players, she had to work extra hard but they won.
They beat Prairie in three Tuesday night, too.  Thankfully, the team will be back together in full on Thursday for Senior night.

Josie

We've had some really fun play times with Josie this week.
She's such a cutie.
She just loves destroying every tower Uncle builds.

Flipping kids was a lot easier ten years ago.
Not pretty but she likes it.
Saying hi to the scarecrow yesterday.
We went for a walk today and she plopped down to play with the rocks.
Hello Mr. Skeleton.
This afternoon she climbed up into the school desk first and played there, then she climbed into the basket and got hung up and needed help getting out.  She started to climb into the wood box, too, but I nixed that idea.

Josie, Rielee v'ball

Josie came to stay with me this morning while Grandma went to the dentist.
We played a game that Uncle played with Josie last week-throwing the foam blocks on the chair.
But then she decided it would be faster and more fun to just dump the whole bag out instead.
Then she played with them on the floor,
and tried chewing on them, I had to veto that, which she thought that was pretty funny.
Kelso beat Evergreen tonight in three.  Rielee was back to playing front row since Bella is out for the week with a sore ankle, she had a good match with seven kills.

Will and Kalyn's wedding

Will and Kalyn's wedding was beautiful. The fall colors and the venue were perfect and the sun even made a brief appearance during the ceremony.
Their first dance was impressive, with twirls and dips.  The food was delicious, although we had to leave before the mini pies were served but they looked great, too.
The kids played corn hole, and this is Josie when Daddy told her to say "cheese".

Josie Jean

Josie.  What a sweetheart.  She has her Uncle Steve wrapped around her finger.  The sight of her trotting into the kitchen with him to get a refill on her snacks is so darned cute.
She was very relaxed today, sitting beside him watching Curious George, munching on her puffs.
Love every minute we get to spend with her.

Ava soccer, zip line

Ava had a soccer game at Delta Park on Saturday, it was a fun game to watch-they won it 3-2.
They got to come home with us afterward and enjoyed the warm afternoon, playing on the zip line,
we had a fire pit, played a corn hole game for the championship (Harper and Papa won) and then they played ball in the field until dark.
Harper made a triple batch of slime with this result.
Sunday morning Papa helped them build a bird house.  We played one last championship game of corn hole for the year and Ava and I won (Harper and Papa later said they let us win).
They played at Aunt Cathy's, then the kids came up and used the zip line and played ball in the field.
