belated Father's Day

first Father's day together
We had a belated Father's Day lunch today at Nancy and Brian's house. Brian barbecued some delicious tri-tip for sandwiches and Nancy and Katelyn made a yummy lemon cake for dessert.  We had a great time.

Rielee v'ball, birthday, Ava & Harper's last day, Monopoly

Summer league ended Tuesday for Rielee,
they played a tournament the last 2 days.

Rielee turned 14 on Wednesday, she asked for and got trees - plum and weeping willow.
She also got a Mac computer, which she was thrilled with and treating it like it was her baby.
Friday was the girls last day of school, it was "Hawaiian" day.
Now they're fifth graders!

They spent the night and we played the first, and possibly the last, Disney Monopoly game of summer.  It was a long, loud, silly, tense game.  At one point, Rielee went home for dinner and played along on FaceTime since she didn't trust us to play for her!

Razor, lake, Father's Day

This Razor 360 slider we found at garage sale was popular.
They can do some fun tricks on it.

Harper worked for a long time on this chalk drawing we found on Pinterest,
her balloons had to be just right, with lots of color blending.  Then Ava made her sign and was time to take the picture, but the blacktop was so hot they could barely stand to lie down!  Plus the bright sun-Harper didn't have sunglasses so she's wearing my bifocals.
Saturday afternoon the girls went to the lake with Gabe, Des and Rielee for a few hours.
They went swimming, got ice cream, played Sims and did not want to leave.
Today we had burgers, pie and a nice visit with the Gourde's for Father's Day.

Ava Harper recorders, Rielee awards

Ava and Harper's music class gave a recorder concert today..  It was cute,
their teacher made it fun, challenging the kids to play not only "Hot Cross Buns" but
"Buns Cross Hot".
In this picture they stood in a circle and had to play the notes for the classmate to their left, then they went to the right.
Today was Rielee's 8th grade awards assembly at Coweeman.
All her hard work and studying paid off.  She got the little gavel with her name
engraved on it with her Leadership award, she'll also be Freshman class president
next year.  Tomorrow is her last day, then it's on to high school!

Luke's graduation, party

Luke graduated Saturday at McKenzie Stadium.

Luke posed for pictures with all the family (notice Papa Mike photo bombing over his shoulder)

Ava missed graduation, she had her last soccer game and got a trophy, her first.
 Today was Luke's graduation party.
Lots of friends, family, good food, fun picures to look at, it was so nice.

Rielee came to the party with us.  Harper said all the kids were hanging out in the their
room so I gave her my phone and told her to take a couple of pictures.
These were two of probably, oh, 50 or more selfies they took.

We took Rielee to summer league at Heriatage H.S. last night.  She's practicing wtih the varsity team, they played Columbia River and Woodland.
Today was Hawaiian day at school, part of spirit week. I couldn't believe it when Rielee asked to borrow one of Papa's shirts, of course she managed to make it look cute.

Selfie, morning games

Friday night bedtime selfie, early to bed since they had games at 9 and 10 in the morning.
Ava with teammate Emmy, they won their game 4-3, Ava scored the winning goal.

Harper had a great hit in her game and was walked several times.  She played third base and center field and
Ava thought they won.
