Harper's hair, meet the teacher night

Rielee spent a good hour Wednesday giving Harper some loose curls.
They both loved the way her hair turned out. We all thought she looked older.
Thursday was Meet the Teacher night at Dorothy Fox Elementary, the girls' new school that is near their house.  They were happy to find that their desks are together.
Mrs. Johnson is their teacher, they also have a student teacher, Mrs. Salisberry.
Daddy filled out forms about the girls' personalities, strengths, etc.
Getting their student planners in the gym with Mom.

Metal detecting day

Saturday the girls did some the metal detecting with high hopes of
finding something exciting.  All they turned up was a broken old toy car,
some nails, an old spoon and that chunk of pipe in the picture.  Still fun though.

Ambush, Parker's shop, river, cards and fish

The girls ambushing Papa with the hoses, they hid behind the lawnmower till he came outside.
He couldn't get mad, it was so warm out the water felt good.

Saturday Parker was out spreading the gravel for his shop.

He's a little frustrated and tired of waiting for the permit to go through.
Rielee taught me how to play Rummy Saturday night when she came over.
Now, every time I see her we have to play a couple of hands.  She is, of course, competitive and hates to lose.

Monday was so hazy with all the smoke it didn't feel warm enough to go to the river until 3.
Surprisingly, we had the swimming hole all to ourselves.  They had fun going down the rapids and had a
water fight.

Tuesday we went back but Rielee couldn't go because she had some
ASB work to do at school.  A few other kids came and the girls played and shared
their tubes with them

Harper forgot her mask so they had to share Ava's, they said there were
lots of huge fish in the river.

Fish Fiasco: Last week Papa got an aquarium so we could save some of the fish out of the pond when
we filled it in (plus he knew the girls would love it).  Catching the pond fish was such a pain we thought we'd postpone it, so we took the girls to the Pet Store and they picked out 3 little gold fish.  When we got back, Harper and Papa figured out how to catch all the pond fish and we decided to keep the biggest one, and wow, he looked really giant in the tank.
The next morning Ava was so upset-her baby fish had disappeared.
We finally had to tell her the big pond fish must have gotten hungry in the night.

Wednesday-Parker and Maddie painted the woodshed and Parker cleared off and sprayed the bank.

He was proud of the light he installed.  He found it and several others in the trash at a job site, he'll use the others in his shop.

remote control, water balloons, chicks

This little remote control vehicle is a lot more fun for the girls than the drones were (Ava had another drone get away from her into the woods last week).

The kids played with the last of the water balloons Monday, playing some games and ambushing Papa.

Rielee got some new chicks to go in her enlarged, remodeled chicken coop.  I think this one was named Viper.

Sally B's wedding

The girls came up Friday and were so excited.  Harper brought Sally B, her big bear,  to marry Christopher, the big white bear she found at a garage sale a couple of weeks ago.  Harper officiated while Ava helped her little bear be the ring bearer (they used bracelets since the bears have no fingers).  Papa and I were invited as well as Sally's sister.  It was all very sweet.

Saturday was the family garage sale. Cutest thing ever- Bridget had a table set up to draw portraits.  I loved her samples, you could choose full body, half or face.  She was so serious drawing Uncle and did a great job.

The cousins played together off and on all day.  They went swimming at  Rielee's and when I went to check on them, I found them all in the hot tub. That's Rielee's cousin Taylor with hands over her face.
