Hammock, Luke's birthday

Saturday-the hammock came out and the girls pretty much spent the entire weekend playing on it.  This game they call Lava Monster, one of them goes underneath and tries to push the other two out.

Ava made me a cake.
Luke's 17th birthday was Saturday, but he had pizza and cake on Sunday.  It was pretty windy so his candles wouldn't stay lit, so he's actually pretending to blow them out!

Sweet spot, goldfish

No bowling Saturday due to a tournament in progress, so we went to Sweet Spot instead.
Then we went to the pet store for a few new goldfish for the pond.

It was a big decision picking out the right fish.  They studied them and looked for some quick swimmers.  Harper kept studying them and just couldn't decide, then she said she'd take the first one that looked at her.  They got 2 each.  Ava named hers Shy (because he kept hiding in the corners) and Sparkle, a bright gold one.  Harper named hers Jeff (because he had a black stripe from his head down his back and looked mean and fierce like Daddy's friend Jeff), and Star.  We were thankful for the very patient Petco employee, she chased fish for the longest until the girls had just the ones they wanted.

Auna track, Emmy & Rielee volleyball

Auna had a home track meet vs. Kings Way and Stevenson yesterday.  Her first javelin throw was a beauty, 117'11", good for first place and her 4X400 relay team won also.

When we got home from the track meet, Des called to ask us to come to Kalama to watch/ bring home Rielee.  Gabe had cut his finger and gone to Urgent Care for stiches (ended up with 5), she wanted to meet him there.  Rielee's team was playing the Kalama alumni team.  We were glad we were there because Emmy was, too, and we saw something we never thought we'd see-Emmy and Rielee playing against each other.  Rielee was really happy because her team took a set off the alumni, plus she blocked Emmy and had some nice digs and kills.

It was fun watching Emmy play again, she can still put the ball down just like she used to.  She said she happy to have gotten the chance to play against Macee in summer league, then Auna, but now Rielee, who would have thought?  She wondered if she could last to maybe play against the twins one day!

Baseball & Softball

We enjoyed watching Luke play today at a  close ballgame vs. Battleground, but the Titans lost 3-2.

Then we went to Salmon Creek to watch Ava and Harper play softball.
Harper pitching, Ava at shortstop, Dad helping.
So fun to watch them learning the game.

Hair by Rielee

The girls were so happy to see Rielee Thursday that they consented to letting her straighten their hair.
It's a long process but they passed the time, almost 2 hours, playing on Papa's phone and watching Nailed It.

They loved the results.

Easter/April Fools

Rielee got her Easter basket on Thursday since they were spending Easter in Phoenix this year.
Then I pranked her with one of my Easter/April Fools brussel sprout cake pops.  So funny.
Rielee came over later to help me prank the girls, they were not happy.
But they loved it Saturday when we tricked Lexi, then Auna,
and Jillian and Bridget on Easter.
This was a first for us, dyeing eggs with the girls, and they are experts at it.  They stayed with us while the family went to a Mariner's game with Uncle Mike and Mikey.
They were very worried that the Easter bunny might not find them at our house to leave their baskets at the foot of their bed, but he did.  Ava said she woke up about 4 to the sound of hopping and felt something furry on her feet.  Papa woke up and told them they couldn't get up until I did, which was at 5:45.  They got bunnies, swimsuits and candy in their baskets.

The annual cousin picture-with our newest addition to the family, baby Jordon.
The look on their faces was priceless when we all yelled "April Fools" when they got back from their eggless egg hunt.
But they found lots of eggs in the real hunt.

Tor was a happy little hunter.

It was a drizzly day but they still had fun.

Opening their loot.

The kids' egg roll, I can't recall who won.
Ava gave it her all trying to catch this egg but it went right over her.  She and Harper had 2 good catches though.
Tierney and Brock were the winners.

Then the girls decided an Easter sleepover was in order.  After some really wild playing, Jillian and Bridget introduced us to the baking show "Nailed It" and they settled in to watch that.   Ava, Harper and Jillian would draw a picture of whatever the baking challenge was, while Bridget sculpted it out of Floof.  Lots of laughs, and an early night for some worn out cousins.
They had back to back sleepovers, staying together at Cathy's Monday night.
