Lucy the cat, Lucy the Elf

Saturday morning Rielee decided that Lucy needed a new stocking.  She thought her old stocking, made from a kit, wasn't good enough for such a special kitty.  They couldn't decide which fabric to use so they laid it all out and let Lucy pick-then changed it to something else.  It turned out cute, Rielee put her name on it with puffy paint.

The cousins got together and played and Rielee coerced Jillian into letting her curl her hair (doing hair is Rielee's favorite activity these days).  But then Cathy came to pick them up since Ty was ready to give them a basketball lesson so her hair didn't get finished.  Rielee tagged along to get some basketball practice, too.

We took the girls home today and they were anxious to find out where Lucy, their Elf on a shelf was.  They were amazed to find her in their room and that she had made herself a zip line from the shelf to a little house on their table, where she was resting.  Pretty amazing little elf.  Oh, and Luke had cleaned their room just for something to do in the middle of the night, pretty amazing brother.

I got them together for a picture-poor Lexi had just came back for the doctor, she has a bad cold she's trying to shake before going back to college tomorrow.

Had to get a picture of cute little Oliver, too.

Thanksgiving

We got to spend our Thanksgiving with these 3 darlings this year. It was nice to catch up with Macee
and hear about law school life.  Not so nice hearing about Parker's nighttime excavator adventure.
Des and Gabe cooked a wonderful meal.

Babysitting Jordon

Jordon came to stay with us on Saturday.  The girls were really taken with him and ready to help me (except for diaper changing).
Ava and Harper both said they had never held a baby, so he was very popular.
By the end of the day, Harper could mimic all the little sounds he makes.
He's a happy little guy.

Rielee basketball

We watched Rielee's game at Three Rivers Christian this afternoon.  They won easily and Rielee played really well.  For not having played basketball since 4th grade, she's picking it up again quickly, fun to watch.

State volleyball

This was Auna and family after their first win at State on Friday.  They ended up with 2 wins and 2 losses,
earning them the 6th place trophy!
Auna had an amazing tournament, as always, she played her heart out, it was so fun to watch her.

This is the end of 12 years of Rocket volleyball for our girls and what a great run it's been, we're sure going to miss it.

Veteran's programs & Menchie's

Ava and Harper invited us to the Veteran's program yesterday at King's Way.  It was wonderful hearing the little kids sing all the patriotic songs and the 7th grade band was awesome.  Afterwards, we entertained Harper while Kelly took Ava to an oral surgeon consultation (she needs an extra tooth removed).  There's a new Menchie's in Hazel Dell so we stopped there first, since that's Ava and Harper's favorite place for a treat.  Then we went to Target where Harper pointed out a couple of toys she wanted for Christmas.
Rielee also invited Papa and I to the Veteran's program at Coweeman on Monday.  It was a special program also with great music.  They gave each veteran a rose and a standing ovation from all the teachers lined up in the hallway as we were leaving.

Halloween

Ava and Harper spent Halloween with us since they didn't have school due to conferences.  They woke up so happy, "it's Halloween!", then the day drug on and on.  They decided to do their own makeup, borrowing some from Rielee,  and did a good job, I thought.  They looked really creepy.
Finally it was time to go, they trick-or-treated at Laury's and at Cathy and Bob's,
Ava was a bit bothered by Cathy's giant spider.
Then we took them to the Street of Screams at the fairgrounds in Longview.
They had fun there and got lots of candy.  They were surprised how the white on their dresses glowed under the black lights.  We also stopped to trick or treat Linda on the way home.
