Luke tennis

Harper took a sibling selfie before Luke's tennis match vs. Camas on Monday.

It was fun watching Luke play, although it would help a bunch if I knew how to keep score.

Slide action, cousins

Rescuing Harper from the hot lava!
These 3 were so silly Saturday afternoon.  They played a long game of Life, it was funny listening to them.

We had a visit from the Dolans this morning.  Auna had just gotten up, having slept in after her long day of volleyball yesterday when Rockets won the Mark Morris Challenge.

Soaking their nails in Rielee's concoction of egg white and honey.
Ava and Harper couldn't stand it for very long and afterwards Ava said her fingers felt weird.

Investigators

Saturday morning playing "investigators".  They said their boss sent them outside to look for signs of fall.  They went all around the yard, collecting leaves, cones, and hazelnut shells.  Ava studied them with the magnifying glass but wished she had her microscope.
They spent the afternoon letting Rielee straighten their hair.

Rielee 7th grade volleyball, Auna, Allison Kalama

Rielee played in her first 7th grade volleyball game today against Monticello. She played great and they won 2-1.

Auna at the net in Kalama tonight, they won 3-2 but Emmy's team put up quite a fight.

Emmy recruited Dan to do lines, which got interesting when he made a call that Auna thought was wrong.  It was funny listening to them talk about it after the match.
We were surprised when Allison came to say hi after the match, she had been sitting with her friend in the band, the cheerleaders don't cheer for volleyball.  She said she is doing great in school, always good to hear!

Swim party, Dr. Eureka

Ava
Ava and Harper went to friend Audrey's birthday swim party Friday after school.  They had a ball
Harper
and didn't want to leave, begging for just one more jump off the diving board and trip down the slide.
The cousins got together Saturday.  Here they playing  Dr. Eureka.  Harper is the usually the fastest at this game but the competition was fierce.  After Jillian and Bridget left, Rielee suggested she and Harper play a 10 minute challenge.  Rielee won but Harper said it was only because her eyes were starting to cross from staring at the balls for that long.

3rd graders, zoo

First day of school for our 3rd graders, they're getting so big!  They said it was a long but good day!

We visited the zoo August 31st.  They kept talking about the seeing the lions but it was the lion statues they meant-not the actual lions.

The rhinos impressed them,

as did this display, they wouldn't come out and begged me to come in there with them, but it would have required crawling, so sorry, no.
They got tired before we saw everything and we had to stop at every bench to rest on the way out.  Ended our visit by riding the zoo train and shopping for stuffed animals at the gift shop, what a fun day.

Meeting the teacher

Ava and Harper start school tomorrow so they got to take in their school supplies today and meet their teacher.  We met them in Mommy's office where they were behind her desk playing with post-it notes.

Daddy filling out the information card while Ava watches, Ava's class number is #1.

Harper is #8.  They had to put all their supplies in different pouches, along with their folders and notebooks, then it's all stored in a tray in their desks. Had to have everything marked with their name, each crayon, marker, everything.  Just like last year.

Turning in their finished checklists to Mrs. Grant, she gave them each a card to keep track of their stickers and coupons for rewards.  They're ready to start the year.

Rielee's 1st day, makeup, chalk house

Rielee started school Aug. 29th, she's a 7th grader!

Rielee had left her makeup at our house and the girls asked if they could do makeovers
on each other, a first.

It was cute listening to them, they were so serious and sincere, telling each other how beautiful they looked.

They had so much fun making a big chalk house at Cathy's that they did it again Friday, it was hours of entertainment.

Creepy sisters

The girls and I had a surprise planned for Daddy.  He has always wanted the girls to dress up for Halloween as the creepy twins from The Shining movie and this year they were up for it.  I ordered the costumes and they came last week, our plan was that they would dress up and surprise/scare Charb when he came to get them.  Well, Ava put her dress on first, ran into the bedroom to look in the mirror, and yelled "I hate this, I look like a maid!"  Harper had the same reaction, complaining that they were just plain old dresses!  So I said they needed makeup, but my makeup job did nothing for them, they couldn't get the dresses off fast enough.  Daddy called later so I figured we better tell him the bad news, he was so disappointed and begged them to please just dress up and have one picture taken in the costumes.  No way, they said, and they were adamant.  After they hung up, I guilted and cajoled them into doing it, one picture for Daddy.  Rielee did their makeup and she was super excited at how creepy they looked.  Her enthusiasm rubbed off on the girls and they started enjoying being creepy, they even made a spooky video for Daddy.  Not sure that they'll wear the costumes for Halloween, they're thinking about it, but Daddy got his picture and he's happy.
