Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast

Today was Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast day at Illahee Elementary.  The kids were given hats as they walked into the cafeteria and wouldn't you know it- Harper got a green one.
Ava ate some green eggs and her fruit roll-up.

Harper tried a tiny bit of ham but didn't like it, she ate part of her roll-up and Ava finished it.  The ham was good and the eggs were okay if you didn't look at them, but we stopped eating them when we noticed Kelly's teeth looked a little green.  The principal led everyone in some cheers for Dr. Seuss and for Illahee, and then as we were leaving, the kids showed us how they separate their
leftovers for composting, something they do after lunch every day.  It was really a fun, special time with the kids.

Cooking, soccer, bridal show

No sleeping in at our house, they were up at 7, ready to finish a Mr. Peabody and Sherman movie before Rielee went home.
Ava came out all dressed in pink with her pink doll and told me she was going to work and it was "take your baby to work" day.  Baby helped mix the waffle batter with her.
I gave them each new Firefly light-up toothbrushes with the suction cup bottom and this is where we found them after they went to bed...
Jason and Luke watching the girls play their last soccer game, that's Harper at goalie.
Posing afterwards with their medals and bracelets, now it's on to tee-ball!

I had a special time with Emmy today, too.  She asked me to go with her to a Bridal Show since Laury was in Denver at Auna's volleyball tournament.  It was really fun.  She got lots of information, entered seveeral contests, sampled some good food from caterers and cupcakes and cakes from bakeries.  She also scheduled a tour tomorrow of an interesting venue near Woodland.  Wish I would have taken a picture of her while we were there but we were so busy I didn't think of it.

Friday night sleepover

Friday night was our last one with Rielee, she's been with us all week since Mom and Dad were in Mexico.  She was happy when Ava and Harper came up to stay over, too.   They played some "monkey in the middle" before dinner-they have more fun with that beach ball, I like it because it's pretty harmless in the house.
After dinner, we went over to Rielee's house so she could practice piano.  Then they played with Barbies while Buttons watched.

Later they watched a movie, ate popcorn and Ava and Harper made ice cream cones for everyone.

There's no doubt how close these kids are, we find notes around the house all the time.

Happy cousins

Happy girls all around Wednesday.  Auna got some huge hugs from Ava and Harper when she came in, it's been awhile since they've seen her.  Rielee was happy to have the girls come up to stay the night.   She entertained them with Barbies at her house (after she practiced piano) and then helped
with reading and also their spelling words.  They all wanted to sleep on the floor, but Ava and Harper abandoned Rielee, saying she was snoring.  Ava climbed up into my chair to get some distance from her and Harper came in bed with me, we put them back in their bed a little later.  Rielee was surprised to find herself alone on the floor this morning.

Golden Palace

Parker, Papa and I picked up Rielee from her sewing class and went out for Chinese food.  They love the Golden Palace so we went there and it was really good.

Scrabble, Sophia and Brody visit

It made me happy when Rielee asked to play Scrabble last night.  She's only played once before so it was a little difficult for her.  She was making up funny words left and right by the end, but we had fun.

Sophia and Brody stayed to play with Rielee after school today.  They had a ton of energy at first and played keep away with the beach ball, then went outside to play tether ball.  They came in more subdued and Rielee showed them videos she had made with Ava and Harper.

Rielee and Sophia watching more videos while Brody checked out the Barbie house.

Green eggs

Harper and Ava came up yesterday to spend the night with us.  They got a big kick out of ganging up on me at UNO.
They told me that their school's Dr. Seuss green eggs and ham breakfast was coming up and Harper was upset.  She thought if she didn't eat the green eggs she wouldn't get a hat.  So this morning they helped make green eggs and had a taste test.  She liked them and asked for more.  Of course they also had to have pink and green waffles, too.
I decided we should organize the Barbie drawers this morning.  They got busy playing Barbies while I tried to sort through all the stuff.  Then Harper noticed my front window was dirty and decided to wash the windows while Ava dusted, then they traded. Then they both had stores-Harper sold her drawings and Ava sold food that her Olaf had cooked.  By that time, we had to take them back since they had a soccer game.  Needless to say, nothing was organized and the Barbie stuff went back the way it came out, a jumbled mess...

Valentines Day

Posing with their Valentine goodies.  We brought them home after their soccer game on Sunday.  It was a funny one, the other team didn't have enough players so they played opposite each other.  Ava scored when Harper was goalie, she told me later that she felt bad but she just "had to kick that ball!"
Drawing at their desk before bed, they're good little artists.  Harper told me she was outlining and filling in her "E" like Daddy had told her to.  She likes to cut out letters.
Yesterday, we went for a walk and Harper grabbed the calculator, notepad and pen, saying she would "calculate" how many worms Ava found (3).  Then they both managed to get water in their boots and their dresses wet, so we weren't outside for long.
They made me laugh this morning when Ava gave a silly Harper a piggy-back ride from bed.
I hate to take down all the Valentine decorations the girls made this year, they were so cute.

A sunny Sunday

Helmets on for scooter riding, and dressed up, they had lunch outside first.  They didn't eat much though because there were too many stink bugs distracting them.
They rode over to the Dolans and threw the ball for Sam, then went to visit Alan and Vera.  They got cookies and candy from Vera first, then had to check out the fun motion sensing candy machine in Alan's shop.  They tried it out several times before I chased them out of there.
Next they went worm hunting, looking under rocks alongside the stream and wow, scored big time, finding a whole family- Daddy, Mommy and baby.
Had some extra time this morning so Papa played Tumblin' Monkeys with Harper while Rielee and Ava did some drawing.  Ava drew a picture of a girl fishing for Mom.

Rielee and Parker at rental

We stopped by to see how the remodeling was going today.  I found Rielee in one of the closets, playing on her iPad.  The painting is done so there wasn't much for her to do except stay out of the way.
Parker changed out all the outlets and switches in the house, getting a feel for the electrical apprenticeship he's thinking about.  He was finishing up the bathroom when we were there.

Parker's 16th birthday

Dan and Parker visiting yesterday at Parker's party.  These two get along so well. Papa had to point out their matching facial hair.
The birthday boy wanted cheesecake and Des made Jello cake also.  He was so excited about finally being able to drive, I heard his diesel engine go by at 6:15 this morning.  Des said he was up at 4:30 to print out his license, and left early to drive around a little before school.  He said he went to Dutch Bros. by himself and it felt so weird.
The girls went to Aunt Cathy's to play with Jillian and Bridget after the party yesterday.  She printed out a couple of adult coloring pages for them, Ava loved it and worked on her butterfly picture this morning. Harper was happy drawing and selling pictures.
