Rielee and Sophia

Rielee and Sophia, her carpooling buddy.  Sophia is in 3rd grade at Butler Acres.  They've enjoyed having a little time to play after school this week while waiting for Sophia's Mom to pick her up from our house.

Will

This is a picture of Will that was in the Coos Bay newspaper this morning, along with a nice write-up about their win over Lane last night.

First tea party/biking/Will's Sophomore night

It was nice enough out for the first tea party of the year and it was a "kitty" party, which is why they have their faces in the plates.
Rielee had a good day.  After practicing lip syncing last night, she won a contest in her class and gets to be one of the lead "singers" in a video they will make.  The video will be shown as the entertainment at an awards assembly next week.
When Rielee got her bike out, Ava and Harper wanted theirs, too.  They were a little rusty but rode over to Laury's and back.  Harper went back to her scooter though, she said she's just more of a "scooter girl".
We had planned on going to Will's Sophomore night but had to settle for watching the live stream.  They beat Lane by two, it was fun to watch, and Will played great.

Swinging

Rielee took this picture of Papa pushing the girls on the swings yesterday.  She thought it was pretty cool how their hair was flying around.  Since Rielee is staying with us this week we wondered how it would be- getting them all to sleep.  They surprised us though and were all sound asleep by 9.
This morning they jumped up early to get in some playing time before school.  Rielee was excited about wearing her new overalls and Harper and Ava were excited about wearing their new skirts.

Rielee's haircut

Harper and Ava decorating their lunch sacks this morning, they didn't have their lunch boxes with them since they had hot lunch yesterday.

Rielee stopped by for a minute this morning to show us her new haircut, you could tell she felt very special.  Makes her look older, I thought.  After she left Harper told me "Rielee looks cute, but I am NEVER cutting my hair!"

Ukulele lessons

Rielee and Papa are taking another round of ukulele lessons through the Parks and Rec. Dept., they meet at the McClellen Arts Center.  Papa had a conflict of interest tonight, with Auna playing at District in Rochester at the same time as ukulele, so I took Rielee while Papa went to the game.  It was fun observing her there.  She's very confident in a class with 8 adults, maybe because all but one are grandparent age.  In the picture she's grimacing as she struggles with a new chord in "Edelweiss".   They learned 4 songs total, 2 were Beatles songs, the other was "Pearly Shells".  Rielee didn't know the lyrics but loves to sing and learns them quickly.  She was a bit distracted by a dog training class going on in the ballroom-she kept trying to catch glimpses of dogs out in the hallway.

Spa time

The girls spent Saturday night with us.  Rielee brought over her Orbeez Foot Spa, they all tried it out and loved it.  That smile from Ava was one of the last ones we saw before she started coming down with the stomach bug that Harper fought all week.  She started feeling crummy before bed and woke up at 5 this morning and was very sick, poor girl.

Washing rocks

We went for a little walk Wednesday afternoon,  Ava was happy to find
a few flowers to pick.

When we got back to the house Harper asked if they could wash some rocks since they had found a couple of nice ones to give as gifts.  They came in when the water cooled off and their hands got cold.
This afternoon we went to watch Luke play basketball at Pacific Middle School.  Shahala won easily and Luke had a good game.  No picture since I left the memory card at home and couldn't get a decent one with my phone.

Breakfast buddies

Rielee got up early to come over for breakfast with the twins at 7:00 a.m.  Ava and Harper had hurried to get dressed so they would have more time to play after eating.  They played with Harper's dinosaur and Ava's walking puppy, and got in some Barbie action, too.  Ava was ecstatic this morning because she was dressed head to toe in pink.

Driving lesson

Parker asked me to take him out in the old car before we sell it so he could try driving a stick shift.  He drove around CR and on some of the back roads around West Side Hwy.  He did really well and I wasn't as nervous as I thought I might be.

Auna volleyball, Will basketball

We went to Portland this morning and watched Auna play in a couple of matches.  They won one and lost one.  Auna played really well, she's playing all around now since their lineup changed when they lost a player.  Fun watching her, but when we left we got soaked in a rain storm since we had to park about a half a mile away.
Will's team was playing at Mt. Hood CC so we got to watch him play in the afternoon.  They lost but Will played great.

Sock Hop

We went to watch the boy's game tonight, it was Ty's senior night, wow, these kids are all growing up so fast.  They beat Stevenson, Ty had 18 points and Brock had 24, hitting six 3 pointers, fun game.

Kelly and Charb sent us pictures and video of the girls before and at the Sock Hop at their school tonight.  Harper had told us that she wasn't going to dance because she wasn't a good dancer (Rielee had tried to teach her how to waltz and line dance like she had learned in P.E .- Harper got frustrated when she couldn't quickly learn it), but she was out there dancing right away and having a great time, Ava was too!

Luke basketball

Steve went to watch Luke play 8th grade basketball this afternoon, it was a home game vs. Covington, Charb's school.  He said that Luke played great and they won 63-21.

Parker's15th, Super Bowl

Parker came over this morning so I could wish him Happy Birthday and give him his gift.   He is so happy to finally be able to drive his truck and hopes to get his permit on Tuesday.
When Ava and Harper got here, they had a gift for Parker so we took it over to him.  It was a Seahawk hat, Uncle Charb knows just what a Patriot fan would want.  Parker was a good sport about it and posed for a picture.
The Dolans came over to watch the Super Bowl with us.  Ava and Harper loved it when we all would scream after a good play, they would scream right along with us, and louder than all of us, too.  It was all fun until that last darned play...
